Dreamers In A Difficult Situation After DACA Removal | By Joanna Vega

What is DACA? Do you know why it is so important to people? DACA stands for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, which means that it allows minors who entered the state illegally to get a two year work permit that allows them to have an education along with other benefits. Former President Barack Obama was the person who created this program for minors in 2012. In the month of September 2017, Donald Trump removed this program from all the “Dreamers.” Recently a federal judge declined the order of Donald Trump ending the program for the minors, however Trump says, ”That  DACA is set for removal on March 5th.” Many people are still trying to get rid of DACA and although some people are capable of leaving the country, others will be forced to leave school and work behind. Fox news said,”Thousands of people could lose their jobs if the DACA program is rescinded permanently”. Despite Trumps accusations of ending DACA a judge has already allowed many minors to renew their applications. Read More

During the year of 2017 Americans experienced very dramatic weather all over the U.S. and its territories. From the hurricane that struck the southern states to the southeast freeze and midwest tornadoes to the western wildfires, the country has been under attack. Americans have been through severe weather all of 2017. However, Southern California has been the most affected by the western wildfires. 2017 was the most destructive weather year to date. We have had 9,054 small and large fires.These fires have destroyed over 3 million acres of land and have killed about 100,000 innocent people according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, but  what people don’t know is that most of these fires ranged during the winter months September through December according to the LA Times.
